About This Item

The white tape wound onto a male thread before it goes into a fitting. PTFE fills the spiral gap between the threads and lubricates the joint at the same time, so the fitting pulls up tighter and seals without compound. Wind three to five turns in the direction the thread will tighten, otherwise the tape unravels as you screw the fitting home. The thicker pink grade is for gas lines and larger threads; the yellow grade is specifically for LPG.
