Magnetic Door Stopper

A two-piece catch: a magnet housing fixed to the floor or the wall and a steel strike plate screwed to the bottom of the door. The door swings up to it, stops without hitting the wall, and is then held open by the magnet rather than drifting shut in a draught. A firm pull releases it. Stainless and brass bodies both resist rust; the rubber-buffered version softens the contact on a heavy door. Fix the floor-mounted type with the plug and screw supplied rather than adhesive, which lifts off tile within months.
